I haven’t played the game in about 7 or 8 years due to various reasons like a slow PC, frustrating games, and a bad meta. Now that I’ve upgraded to a new computer and I’m feeling much better mentally, I’m curious if it’s worth jumping back into the game. I used to enjoy it for the most part, but I often hear that the community can still be toxic. What do you all think?

Honestly, I’d stay away from it. The game just doesn’t respect your time anymore. With Riot’s decisions, you can end up with teammates who just give up and ruin the game for everyone. Plus, the new cosmetics aren’t anything special—just random themes thrown together.
I’d recommend muting the toxic players and just jump into ARAM if you want a more chill experience. It’s way less stressful!
Honestly, the game has improved a lot! There are many new champions and the gameplay is faster with more objectives to focus on. It might feel fresh if you give it another shot, especially if you play with friends. That always makes it more fun!
It’s pretty much the same game as before. There are definitely champions that are fun to play but can be annoying to face. There are still trolls and toxic players, but Riot did announce a new troll detection system that might help. Playing with friends can make it a lot better, though. Solo queue can be a drag, so I’d suggest giving flex queue a go with buddies.
Flex queue sounds great! It’s where the fun is at, for sure.
If you’re looking for a serious competitive experience, then go for it. But if you’re just looking to chill, maybe it’s best to skip it. The games can be pretty stressful depending on your teammates.
I completely agree! The quality of the cosmetics has really gone downhill.
