Hey everyone! I’m trying to decide if I should spend my money on three sources of Warhammer lore: the Wrath and Glory RPG, the Nachmund Gauntlet Crusade book, and the Warhammer Vault. Here are my questions:
1) How does the lore in Wrath and Glory compare to earlier Warhammer 40k RPGs like Only War and Black Crusade? I noticed it includes some recent updates, like info from the Space Marine 2 video game, so I’m hoping it’s up to date.
2) I listened to the audiobook for the Nachmund Gauntlet Crusade book by Baldermort and it seems packed with lore. I’m tempted to buy this and some older titles like Pariah Nexus and Tyrannic War, but I’m not really into Necrons, so Pariah Nexus doesn’t interest me much. How many pages of lore can I expect from these books? Do they have as much content as campaign books like Arks of Omen?
3) Lastly, is subscribing to Warhammer Vault worth it just for the lore? I see they have older publications like Imperial Armour, Gathering Storm, and White Dwarf. Is the lore in White Dwarf similar to what’s in the Gathering Storm or does it include other content, like Lord of the Rings stuff?
Thanks for any help you can provide!

The Warhammer Vault includes the full versions of White Dwarf, which means you get all the rules, but keep in mind some rules may be outdated. If you’re mainly after lore, the Imperial Armour books in the Vault are fantastic—just ensure you check what’s available first since the lore you want may vary. You can always subscribe for a month to explore specific books before a longer commitment!
Just be warned, the Vault’s Imperial Armour section isn’t complete for the later books—so you might miss out on some content.
Totally agree! Imperial Armour books offer some of the best lore in the galaxy, even if you’re not a fan of a specific faction. Sometimes the stories can totally win you over!
