My son has been asking for an Xbox even though we already have a PS5 for the whole family. He believes that having both consoles is beneficial because there are games exclusive to each. Could anyone share their thoughts on whether it’s really worth it to own both consoles?

Honestly, if you’re just looking for exclusive games, PS5 dominates right now. If your son wants to enjoy both worlds, then sure, go for Xbox. But if the money’s tight, I’d suggest sticking with the PS5 and just considering a PC for the few Xbox games he might want down the line.
I think it really depends on what your son wants to play. If he’s into Xbox exclusives like Halo or Forza, it might be worth getting one, but many of those games are also on Game Pass. Personally, I mostly use my Xbox for Game Pass. If he just wants to play casual games, maybe just get a mid-range gaming PC; that way he can access a wider variety of games.
If budget allows, having both can definitely enhance the gaming experience, especially if you have different interests in your household. Some exclusive titles are worth having an Xbox for, but they’ve been fewer lately. I’d just keep an eye on upcoming releases and see if there are games he really can’t live without.
Having both can be great, especially if you’re into gaming a lot. Xbox does offer Game Pass, which is awesome for trying out new games without shelling out cash for each one. But honestly, if your son isn’t super keen on exclusives, you might want to stick to the PS5; it has way better first-party titles. Just ask him what games he’s interested in that aren’t available on PlayStation.
I own both consoles. To be honest, I mostly play on my PS5 and my Xbox has been collecting dust for over two years. Xbox has some exclusives, but not enough to justify getting one unless you’re really into Game Pass or specific titles. Most major games come out on both systems nowadays, so you might not miss out much by sticking with just the PS5.
