Hey everyone! I’m a bit of an old noob here. I just picked up a prebuilt gaming rig with a 9800x3d and a 5070 ti. Right now, I’m gaming on a 32-inch 1080p monitor, but I’m thinking about switching to a 1440p display. What do you all think?

I absolutely love my dual 32″ LG IPS 1440p monitors! The upgrade was totally worth it for the better visuals and gaming experience.
If you’re mostly playing single-player games but dabble in shooters, a 1440p monitor would still be a great upgrade. You’ll appreciate the clarity in games like KCD2, trust me!
Almost any game you throw at a 1440p monitor will run smoothly and look way better than 1080p. There are plenty of solid 1440p VA or IPS options around the $200 mark, and I’d suggest aiming for a 144Hz or better refresh rate if you can get it!
With that setup, I’d definitely recommend upgrading to 1440p. If you’re using a 60Hz refresh rate on your current monitor, it’s a no-brainer—you’ll see a huge difference! If it’s 144Hz or higher, it’s a bit more debatable, but treat yourself to that better screen!
Definitely go for it! With your build, I wouldn’t even bother with sticking to 1080p. You’ll enjoy gaming a lot more on a 1440p screen.
I’m actually on 165Hz right now, but I’ve heard there’s a driver issue with the 5070 ti that causes some black flicker when I try to go higher. Any tips on that?
