I’ve got an RTX 4060 paired with a Ryzen 7 3700x on an Asus B550M motherboard, and I feel like my CPU is holding my system back, especially since I’m gaming at 1080p. I’m not very tech-savvy, so I’m looking for advice on whether I should upgrade my CPU or if there are tweaks I can make to improve performance. If it makes sense to upgrade, I’d love some recommendations within a budget of 300€!

You should check how your CPU performs in demanding situations. If you’re experiencing a lot of frame drops or your CPU usage is always higher than your GPU usage, those could be signs it’s time for an upgrade. But tweaking your settings might also help!
Whether you need an upgrade kinda depends on your usage. Can you share what games you’re playing, and how they’re performing? Knowing your FPS and CPU/GPU usage during gameplay can help figure out if the CPU’s really lagging or if it’s something else.
Before jumping into an upgrade, have you tried adjusting your power settings? Set your power plan to ensure your CPU runs at max performance consistently. Sometimes that can resolve issues without needing new hardware!
If you have a 300€ budget, you might consider the Ryzen 7 5700X3D. It should pair well with your current GPU and keep you future-proof for upcoming upgrades!
That sounds like a solid option! I’ll look into it.
I’ve been playing some heavier titles, and I’ve noticed some FPS drops that make the experience less than smooth. I usually get around mid-50s FPS in some games, but I’d like to be in the 60s at least!
