Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking about putting some action figures on top of my GPU, a double fan 4060, but I’m really worried about a couple of things. First off, is there any risk of them melting? Also, could the weight of the figures cause my GPU to sag or bend? I just want to make sure everything is safe before I do anything!

It’s generally a good idea to use an anti-sag bracket if you’re going to be putting anything on your GPU. It helps support the weight and prevent sagging. With a 4060, you might not need one, but it’s better to be safe! Plus, if you’re worried about heat, an anti-sag solution is a smart move. Just to be sure, if the weight is significant, it’s worth considering a bracket.
Yeah, especially if the material can handle the heat from the GPU!
You might want to consider the size and weight of the figures. If they’re made of plastic and you don’t have an anti-sag bracket, you could run into sagging issues. If you’re set on using figures, a 3D printed sag bracket could be a great DIY solution!
I’ve got a Hirono figure, and I’m thinking about 3D printing that bracket now.
Honestly, the exterior of your GPU isn’t going to get that hot. Even maxing out at about 100-110°C, the heatsink should just feel warm to the touch. So, as long as you’re not overly stressing your GPU, it should be safe!
My figures are pretty light; do you think that’s ok?
The melting point for most toy materials is around 100°C, so if your GPU does get that hot, you’ll know something’s dangerously wrong. Typically, the GPU itself can throttle around that temperature, and the heatsink usually stays cool enough not to cause any damage. So, you should be fine with figurines on there unless you crank up the heat!

But is it really an issue with melting? Would a 3D printed sag bracket work?
