I’ve heard some reports of people having issues with their Steam Decks after going through airport x-rays, which seemed a bit extreme to me. I’m flying next month, and I want to know if it’s really safe to take my Steam Deck along without any risk of damage.

I’ve traveled with my Steam Deck multiple times without a hitch! TSA treats it just like other electronics. I’ve had mine since launch and frequently fly, and I’ve never encountered any problems.
Yeah, it’s really safe! They usually think the SD card in it is just a Switch cartridge. Unless you have a rare issue, you should be in the clear!
I think it’s totally safe! Just don’t leave it strapped to the seat in front of you. The x-rays that TSA uses to scan electronics like phones and laptops shouldn’t cause any harm to your Steam Deck. I took mine a couple of years ago and it was fine afterwards.
