I have a PS4 with a broken HDMI port, and I need to access some saved data on it. The catch is, this PS4 isn’t set as my primary console, so I can’t use Remote Play over the usual WiFi connection with my phone. I’m wondering if connecting my phone to the PS4 via a cable allows Remote Play, or if it only works over WiFi. If that’s not an option, are there any other ways to get my saved data off the console?

From what I know, PS Remote Play usually works over your network, so hooking up your phone directly to the PS4 with a cable won’t help since the console isn’t designed to stream directly to a phone that way. However, if you have a PC or laptop, you can connect the PS4 to your router with an Ethernet cable and then use the PC for Remote Play. That way, even with the broken HDMI, you can still access your PS4 through the network.

Oh cool, so if I have a laptop connected to the same network as the PS4 (which is wired), I could remote play through the laptop? What do I need to set that up?
