I’m new to Minecraft and usually play solo, but sometimes a few friends drop by to join me. I’m wondering if there are any downsides to mainly using a Multiplayer world for single player gameplay, with just the occasional guest appearance from friends. Thanks for your help!

Just keep in mind that if your friends have different playstyles, like if they enjoy Creative mode while you prefer Survival, that might create some tension. But otherwise, it should be fine!
It depends on what you and your friends expect. If they’re casual players, your progress might get really different, which could lead to some confusion when you all play together. You might want to maintain a separate single player world for serious progress and just use the multiplayer one for fun when they join. Also, it’d be smart to set some ground rules about things like griefing and PvP so everyone enjoys their time!
Nah, you can totally play how you want! If you mostly enjoy solo play, go for it! The multiplayer aspect is just an option for when friends want to hop in. No worries about it!
Yeah, and maybe consider sharing resources if your friends are nice enough to contribute! It can make the game more enjoyable for everyone.
