Hey everyone, I often find myself having to build Serpent’s Fang as my first item practically every game, especially when playing AD assassins like Qiyana. It feels like there are just too many shields out there, and without Serpent’s Fang, I struggle to deal enough damage. In fact, I’ve ended up using Serpent’s Fang in 9 out of my last 10 games. Is this a common experience?

Honestly, it seems pretty normal to me too. There are definitely a lot of characters with shields, and in those matchups, Serpent’s Fang can be a game-changer. Some players just want to remove items that counter their playstyle, but adapting to the situation is key. Keep doing what works for you!
It sounds like you’re right on track with the current meta! The itemization is really designed for situations where there are a lot of shields. AD assassins rely on burst damage, so it’s understandable that you’d prioritize Serpent’s Fang to cut through those shields. Just make sure you’re also considering other items that can further enhance your playstyle, depending on the matchup.
You might want to rethink going for Serpent’s Fang as your first item, especially if the enemy team doesn’t have many shields early on. Maybe try building it second instead. That way, you keep your early game damage up while still being able to counter shields when necessary.
