Hey everyone! I’m fairly new to Fallout 76, just hit level 90 on my first character. I recently finished a mutated event and made sure not to accidentally attack anyone during it. However, after the event wrapped up, two higher-level players jumped me just to take my loot. Is this a common occurrence? Are high-level players often targeting lower levels like me?

If you didn’t have pacifist mode on, it’s possible that you shot them first, and they just reacted to that. Many players don’t want to engage in PvP, so this sounds like a specific case of two players being jerks. Just keep an eye on your settings and maybe avoid claiming workshops if you’re not ready for PvP.
It’s not really normal for that to happen these days. It used to be pretty common, but they discovered that a lot of players weren’t into PvP, so it has decreased. If you want to avoid getting targeted, make sure to set your avatar to passive mode in the settings. That way, other players can’t harm you, and you can’t harm them unless you’re in a workshop!
No, that situation sounds like you encountered some griefers. PvP isn’t as common in FO76 anymore, and usually, lower-level players should be safe assuming they have pacifist mode activated. It starts off enabled by default until you hit level 50, after which you need to manually turn it back on. So double-check your settings!
