I’ve been gaming on PC for most of my life but had to switch to a PS5 when my old PC died. I recently got a gaming laptop since I don’t really have room for a proper desk setup. Now, I’m considering the idea of building a desktop in the future and gaming from my couch in the living room using a wireless keyboard and mouse. Has anyone else tried this? What were your experiences if you have? I’m looking to play games like Rainbow Six Siege, Sea of Thieves, Rust, Phasmophobia, and Diablo.

I’ve been doing this for about 10 years now! I’ve got a lapboard for the mouse and keyboard, and I play from my couch which is about 9-10 feet away from a 75″ 4K TV. It’s really convenient and I find it works great for most games!
I’ve been there – a wireless keyboard and mouse work, but you might need to adjust your setup for comfort. I recommend getting a larger mouse pad since your mouse might move around too much otherwise. It can be tricky gettng the UI scaling right based on how far you are from the screen!
My PC is about 10m away from my TV. Initially, using a wired setup had some input delay, and the Bluetooth was spotty. I ended up using an Nvidia Shield connected to my TV, running a server called Sunshine on my PC and using Moonlight as a client. Now I can stream my games in 1440p 60fps with barely any input lag. This setup really made me ditch my console and enjoy my PC games in the living room!
Yeah, I might have to look into that, especially for reducing input lag!
I also play from my couch, but I stick to a controller since using a keyboard and mouse gives me hand pain. As long as the game isn’t too buggy, it works well!
I built a small PC that runs great for gaming in my living room. It’s kind of like a big Steam Deck, running Linux and using Steam Gamescope mode. Streaming feels fantastic on my TV, and I even use an Xbox Elite controller with it.
That sounds awesome! I’ve heard good things about the Nvidia Shield for this type of setup.
