Hey everyone! I’m playing on PC and I find fishing to be quite challenging, especially when it comes to reeling in higher-tier catches like the Axolotl, which I haven’t managed to snag yet. I’m wondering if switching to a controller, like my Steam controller or picking up a cheap USB one, would make the fishing minigame easier. I’ve got the Mk2 and Stabilized/Improved mods available, but no matter what I try, it either feels too jumpy with Stabilized or not fast enough with Improved. Any tips or experiences you can share?

Theoretically, both should work the same, but I’ve noticed the mouse makes it feel faster. I snagged a Captain’s title using just the mouse, but with the keyboard, I couldn’t catch bigger fish at all.
I’ve been using the keyboard for fishing, and honestly, it works fine for me. The mouse might seem faster, but I find it less precise. With the upgrades I have, I hardly miss any fish now!
It’s all about personal preference! For me, the mouse is manageable and feels pacey. I struggle a bit with just the keyboard, though. Just try what feels best for you!
As a PC user, I switch to a controller for serious fishing. I doubt I could catch all the local legends just using the KB or mouse, even with the best gear. One downside is that the controller takes over, so you have to unplug it for KB/mouse control back again.
I’ve got the same struggle with catching local legends! I managed to get Wavy Willard, but the other two are elusive. I’m using a mark 4 reel with advanced drag, but I’m stuck. I usually use the arrow keys on my keyboard—so frustrating!
Yeah, I totally agree! The keyboard is instant and accurate for controlling the fishing cone. The mouse lags a bit behind due to the way it trails the pointer.
