Hey everyone! I’m looking to dive into the Final Fantasy series, and I’ve heard a lot about Final Fantasy XII: Zodiac Age on the Switch. I enjoy story-driven RPGs like Xenoblade and Dragon Quest, so I’m curious if this game has a solid story and good battle mechanics. Is it worth picking up on the Switch?

FFXII is great, but it might not represent the series well for newcomers. If you’re considering a starting point, I’d recommend trying FFVII, IX, or X first. Those are much more quintessential Final Fantasy experiences and are also on Switch. FFXII is more of a deeper entry that you might appreciate later on!
Definitely! The Switch version of FFXII: Zodiac Age is among the best, and the game itself is really great. If you like it, you might also want to check out FFVI to FFX, which are considered some of the best in the series, and they’re all available on Switch too!
I’d say you should include IV and V too, they’re fantastic!
If you enjoy Xenoblade, you’ll probably find FFXII’s gameplay familiar and enjoyable. It has one of the best battle systems in the franchise and feels really ahead of its time. Just a heads up though, the development might feel a little off in parts, but it’s still one of my favorites!
It’s basically the definitive version, so I say yes! FFXII is often regarded as one of the best modern Final Fantasy games. Don’t let the retro fanatics steer you away from it.
Absolutely! It’s a well-crafted game and visually stunning on the Switch. Plus, it plays just as well as any other console version, so you’re in for a treat!
So are you saying I should skip it initially?
