Hey folks! I’m considering diving into Final Fantasy 16 since it’s on sale on Steam, but I’ve never played any Final Fantasy games before. Can anyone share their thoughts on whether it’s suitable for a newbie? Is the story understandable without prior games? Also, should I go for the standard edition or the complete one?

I’d recommend trying out the demo first before you commit to buying it. It’ll give you a feel for the gameplay and whether it clicks with you or not.
Honestly, it really depends on what you’re looking for. Some classic fans didn’t enjoy it, but if you want a visually stunning action game with solid combat, it could be right up your alley. Just keep your expectations based on that.
FF16 is definitely worth your time. The new mechanics and story add a fresh twist, and it’s rated highly overall. I’d say if you’re into action RPGs, just dive in!
16 offers a different flavor than traditional RPGs; it’s fast-paced and has a cool story, but sometimes the side quests can be a bit of a drag. Overall, though, it became one of my top picks in the franchise!
You can definitely start with FF16! Each game stands alone story-wise, so you won’t be lost if you jump in here. Plus, it’s one of my favorites! If you like action games, it’s worth it for sure.
I wasn’t overly impressed, to be honest. A lot of people loved it, but I felt it veered away from what makes the series great in terms of RPG mechanics. But if you’re new, you might find it more accessible.
So true! Each mainline FF game gives a unique experience. You don’t need to sweat the past games, but if you dig action games, this one could really be enjoyable.
Yeah, I think the visuals and music are a huge draw! Just remember it’s not like previous RPGs.
