I am trying to be very strict with the points that I spend. Chocobonus seems like it is a good one to have, but I don’t want to purchase it and end up finding that it is a bad way to spend the points.

It’s best to get these kind of perks bought early in the game to maximize the return, but is Chocobonus in particular worth the cost? 99 AP is a lot of points for only 10EXP each time
This one doesn’t have a direct return like any of the perks that give AP, bit it’s still worth it. 10 EXP is pretty low, but you get it every 0.35 miles. This makes it a lot less painful. If you get this at the start of the game you could net quite a bit of exp from using this one. It all comes down to how often you feel you will end up using a Chocobo. The more you use one, the more valuable this perk will be for you.
