Hey everyone! I’m thinking about picking up Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but wanted to get your opinions first. Here in Canada, it’s priced at $89.99 plus tax, so I want to know if it’s really worth that price tag. I love the AC series and my last game was Valhalla. For those who have played Shadows, what did you think? Is it fun, or does it fall flat? How’s the exploring and combat? What would you give it out of 10?

I’ve sunk a ton of hours into it! The world looks stunning, and the combat is engaging, mixing stealth elements very well. However, some missions can feel like a grind, and the story isn’t groundbreaking. If you loved Valhalla, you’ll likely enjoy this one as well. I’d give it an 8/10, but it’s definitely for fans of the series.
If you enjoy Assassin’s Creed games, you’ll likely like Shadows. The combat is enjoyable with both character dynamics, and the world is quite visually appealing. Exploration beats many recent AC titles, and while the story is somewhat slow, there are many details to appreciate. In my opinion, it’s the best AC game since Black Flag!
That’s great to hear! But is it worth the $89.99 price tag for a Canadian like me?
From what I’ve seen, it feels a lot like the older AC games but dressed up in a new setting. Combat is better than Valhalla, but it still has some issues. The environments are beautiful, but be prepared for some repetitive mission structures. I’d rate it around a 6 or 7 out of 10.
Sounds about right, I’d probably wait for a sale then. Ubisoft games tend to drop in price quickly.
Honestly, it’s kind of ‘meh’. Feels like the same recycled formula we’ve seen a lot from Ubisoft. If you can deal with that, you might enjoy it, but don’t expect more than what you’ve already played.
Typical Ubisoft pattern, right? Just curious if anything really stands out in this game.
Sounds fun! Do you think it would still be enjoyable for someone new to the series?
