I’m using an AMD setup with a 6600 XT and Ryzen 7 on Arch Linux, and I’ve run into a strange issue that happens every time. If I boot up my PC and go straight into gaming, everything runs smoothly—I get high FPS (over 200) while playing CS2, and my temperatures stay below 70°C. However, if I use my computer for anything else before starting a game, my FPS drops to about 20-25, even for Linux-native games. The only fix I’ve found is to restart my PC, and the problem returns if I use other applications. Has anyone else experienced this?

I don’t run into that issue with my RX 6600 and Ryzen 5 5500 on Fedora; everything works just fine. Might be something specific to your Arch setup causing this.
Yo, I’m on Ryzen 5 5600x with a Radeon RX 6700xt on Arch, and I haven’t had any issues with my setup. You might want to switch to the radv driver for Vulkan, though—AMDVLK can be a bit iffy sometimes.
Same here! I have a Ryzen 5600 and RX 7600 XT on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, and I experience no problems like that. Maybe check for background programs that might be hogging resources?
Have you thought about using an overlay like Mangohud? It can help you track power consumption and clock speeds while you’re gaming. Sounds like your GPU might be stuck in a lower power state. I had a similar issue with an older kernel and needed to use tools like LACT or CoreCtrl to force a better power profile.
