I’m looking to build a Warden for Cyrodiil focused on ranged bombing. Currently, I’ve only worked with a simple New Moon Acolyte + Clever Alchemist setup and I’m eager to try something new. I’m thinking about going for a ranged bomber to help defend keeps from the walls. A lot of the info I find online tends to center around Nightblades, so I’m curious if anyone has experience with Warden builds for this purpose.
So far, I’ve been collecting gear for Plaguebreak, Dark Convergence, and Vicious Death, as I believe these will be useful in my build. My plan is to use Plaguebreak alongside DC, with a bow on the front bar and maybe an ice staff or two-handed weapon on the back bar. I’m also considering using the Warden’s ice AoE or volley to trigger Dark Convergence on grouped enemies, followed by the Mage’s Guild ultimate. Any advice or thoughts?

If you’re set on ranged bombing, you might want to try an Ice Staff with Elemental Explosion. But honestly, melee might work better with Master’s 2H and mix up skills like Dark Convergence with Plaguebreak or Vicious Death. Bombing from range is pretty tough with a Warden since you’ll find it hard to secure kills before enemies can evade.
Funny story: I don’t do PvP, but when I first read your title, my sleepy brain thought you wanted to build an actual airplane to bomb Cyrodiil! I definitely need more coffee before reading threads like this!
Honestly, you might be setting yourself up for disappointment. The things you’re looking at have been nerfed heavily. There was a time when Dark Convergence worked okay for ranged bombing, but that was mostly for sorcerers using runes. Bombing generally requires quick setup and high damage before anyone can react, and that’s why you’ll see most successful bombers are Nightblades or Necros. Wardens don’t really have a good toolkit for bombing since their main abilities are more delayed and suited for close encounters. For best results, it’s better to play Wardens in group setups where they can heal and drop powerful ultimates from a mobile position.
I had a similar experience bombing with a lightning staff, but that was mostly on MYM. It was easy to catch low-health players off guard, but against seasoned groups, it’s tough to land those hits consistently.
