I’m pretty new to all this tech stuff, so bear with me. Right now, I’m playing ‘Grounded’ on my RTX 4090 with 32GB of RAM and my graphics settings are set high, just below the max Epic settings. I capped my frames at 60. I’ve noticed that my GPU usage shoots way up, especially in crowded areas with lots of objects, while my CPU usage stays at around 7%. I’ve heard mixed opinions—some say this is a bad thing, while others say it’s fine. What’s the truth? Also, I know that ‘Grounded’ is a GPU-heavy game, so should I just chalk it up to that?

It’s not really a bad thing if your GPU is bottlenecking your CPU. In fact, a high GPU usage isn’t necessarily a problem, especially if you’re happy with the performance and frame rates you’re getting. Games can be designed to focus more on CPU or GPU, so it’s normal for one to bottleneck the other depending on what game you’re playing. As long as the game’s looking great and running smoothly for you, it’s all good!
Thanks for the reassurance! This helps me chill about it a bit more. Cheers!
