I found a gaming PC on Facebook Marketplace that’s priced at $600, and I’m wondering if that’s a great deal or too good to be true. The specs are as follows: an RTX 3080 graphics card, a Ryzen 7 3700X CPU, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a 750W power supply, all with Windows 10 included.

$600 is a fair price, but keep in mind that the CPU is a bit underwhelming. If you’re planning to buy this rig, you might want to consider an upgrade to a Ryzen 5700X3D for better performance in the long run.
Honestly, the 3rd gen Ryzen should still hold up pretty well, especially gaming at 1080p. At 1440p or 4K, it might not be much of an issue. If you’re thinking of an upgrade, consider adding more RAM up to 32GB. Overall, it might be slightly overpriced, but given the prices of GPUs these days, it’s probably a good find!
Yeah, it’s a decent deal considering the current market. The RTX 3080 is still quite powerful, but just be aware that you’ll eventually want to upgrade the CPU, RAM, and maybe storage as well. The 10GB VRAM might limit you in some games, and since it’s on the AM4 platform, your upgrade paths are somewhat limited to the 5000-series CPUs. But overall, it’s solid for now!
The CPU is definitely going to bottleneck this build. I suspect they’re selling it cheap because the current setup won’t let you use the GPU to its full potential. However, for $600, it’s still not a bad deal if you plan on upgrading the CPU and possibly the motherboard later.
