Ideas for Carry Io Build?

Just tell him to have fun with whatever crazy strategies he wants in unranked! But definitely caution him about trying it in ranked games unless he’s got some serious experience and win rates to back it up. Wouldn’t want him to tank matchmaking!

One solid approach is to grab Helm of the Dominator early on, then load up on some utility items like Armlet of Mordiggian and Vladimir’s Offering. As you head into the late game, prioritize teaming up with your mid and off-laners for those damage items. Keep in mind that Io farms slowly, so Midas will be crucial to help boost your levels fast!

If you want to have some fun, try Io in the Overthrow arcade game! My build is around Aghs, then Kaya + Sange, Skadi, Basher, Moon Shard, and Vlads. Focus on maxing spirits for splash damage and take the “attack ally target” talent. You can dish out a ton of damage mid-game and become a real pain in late-game if you tether to the right ally!

Think about the team dynamic: does he want to play as a carry with you, or is he planning to go solo? The approach might change based on that!

OG actually won TI with a carry Io a while back! You might want to look at that build, but keep in mind it needed a lot of teamwork for those early pushes. Rushing Aghanim’s Scepter was key for their strategy. Just make sure you have friends to coordinate with, it’s tough to pull off solo!

For carry Io, I definitely think Kritzkrieg is a must! The lane partner is super important too; go for something like Treant that can heal and brawl. Talents that boost Overcharge and Spirits damage are good picks. I’d recommend starting with a Bracer and Null Talisman, then aiming for Maelstrom into Aghanim’s Scepter. You can choose between Sange for durability or Yasha for attack speed afterwards. Treads seem like the best choice for boots, but this is just theory crafting!
