I’m curious about how Hogwarts Legacy plays on the Steam Deck. I’ve already tried it on my Xbox, but the experience wasn’t great at all. I’m talking about loading screens that took forever—like 20 seconds just for opening doors and sometimes even 1-2 minutes for fast travel! So I’m thinking about getting it on Steam and switching to the Deck. I’m really looking for feedback on how the loading times are and the overall gaming experience on the Deck. I only got my Steam Deck about two months ago and I’m used to Xbox, so if there are any tweaks I should make to get the game running smoothly, please keep it simple!

I had no issues, the loading times are much better than what you described! I completed the game without long waits—maybe a 30-second pause at the most. Just a few frame drops, nothing compared to your Xbox experience. Anyway, my reading wasn’t the best today, haha!
I spent a few hours playing and then switched back to my desktop for 1440p max settings with full ray tracing. It’s definitely a different vibe but fun nonetheless!
Playing on the Steam Deck has been a great experience for me! I kept it around a steady 40fps, and it felt fabulous! Definitely consider the switch if you’re having issues on the Xbox.
I haven’t had those problems at all with Hogwarts Legacy on the Deck. It runs pretty smoothly for me, and I have a totally stock system. Are you sure you haven’t done any mods or anything?
They seem to be talking about the performance on the older Xbox models.
It doesn’t quite match my Xbox Series S performance, though. I actually use the xbplay app to stream from my Xbox to the Deck. But hey, it still runs pretty well—after all, it even works on the Switch, right?
Right? He mentioned Xbox specifically, makes a big difference!
