Hey everyone! I’m a bit lost on the whole GPU tweaking thing. I’ve seen that gamers often adjust their GPU settings for better performance, but I’m not sure how it works, especially since I’m using Linux as my main OS. Can anyone tell me if it’s possible to tweak my AMD GPU settings in Linux? Also, what are the best settings for my 9070XT?

I recommend you try LACT! Each piece of hardware is unique, but generally, you might lower the power limit and core voltage, and you could get away with increasing the memory frequency — just be careful as that can raise the memory temperature. Personally, I run my 9070XT at a 240W power limit (down from the standard 317W). It still performs well but runs much cooler, which is nice for warm days!
I’m curious about that too! How much of a performance hit do you notice with that 77W reduction? I usually stick to undervolting, so I wonder if this power limit change has affected your throughput significantly.
Yes, you can definitely customize your GPU settings on Linux! Tools like LACT (Linux AMDGPU Controller Tool) or corectrl are handy for this. You can tweak clock speeds, voltages, and fan speeds. Just keep in mind, there’s no one-size-fits-all setting because every GPU is different, so you’ll need to experiment to find what works for yours. If it crashes or overheats, just dial it back a bit. There are also tons of guides and videos out there on how to safely overclock and undervolt your card.
That sounds perfect! My room can get pretty warm, too, and I’m not playing super demanding games, so I think lowering the power limit will work for me without a hitch.
