I’m curious if it’s possible to stream on TikTok from a Steam Deck. I know TikTok Live Studio doesn’t support Linux, but are there any workarounds? I was thinking of maybe using my phone to handle the live streaming and connecting it to my Steam Deck via Steam Link. That way, I could switch between PC and mobile games easily. Would this work if you’ve got a strong Wi-Fi connection? Any advice or better solutions would be appreciated!

Another potential approach is to use desktop mode on your Steam Deck to launch TikTok. It’s a stretch considering applications like Discord have issues streaming audio, so I’m unsure if TikTok would have the same problems. If Discord struggles with this, it might not be totally reliable.
Okay, here’s a way you might be able to stream SteamOS from your Steam Deck to TikTok: first, use your PC to stream the Steam Deck using the remote play function. Then, broadcast that feed to TikTok Live through your PC. This requires your games to stay open; otherwise, the stream will end. If you want to pause the stream without stopping the game, you can simply press the sleep button on your Deck. If you’re looking to stream different games without closing and reopening them, try starting a lightweight app like an emulator without a game loaded, and add it as a non-Steam game on remote play. This way, you can open your actual games from there — although I haven’t had much luck with getting emulated games to stream correctly.
There’s definitely a concern about privacy when using platforms like TikTok. They often gather personal data, so make sure you’re okay with that before diving in. There are always those worried about data collection by TikTok, especially since it’s not supported out of the box on a platform like SteamOS.
If you’re determined to get TikTok running on your Steam Deck, it might be worth trying Proton or Wine, which are tools that can run Windows applications on Linux. They might help you get TikTok Live to function on the Steam Deck, though it’s a bit of a workaround and success isn’t guaranteed. Give it a go and see if it can run smoothly enough to stream.
