Hey everyone, I’m struggling a bit with aerials off the wall, especially when I use air roll left. I find it really tough to air roll right, almost like I’m a total newbie at the game. I get that it’s easier for me to reach the ball quickly using my preferred direction, but sometimes the situation forces me to adjust my car more than I’d like when I come off the wall. Should I just keep practicing aerials exclusively with air roll left, switch to non-directional air roll, focus on mastering air roll right, or maybe a mix of both approaches? I’ve been watching videos, but it seems like everyone there favors the right side. Any advice would be awesome!

Try holding down the drift or air roll button and use your thumbstick for adjustments. It really helps in making precise movements when you’re coming off the wall.
As someone who also uses air roll left, I get the difficulties in adjusting when you come off the right wall. I find using free air roll to adjust feels smoother, but I think being able to make quick adjustments using either method is key. If I’m going for a close shot to the wall, I’ll make quick air roll adjustments; if it’s further away, I just spin toward the ball until I reach it. It’s all about finding what works best for you!
Look, at the end of the day, play however feels best for you! If you prefer air roll left, just keep practicing those wall takeoffs in training packs. I feel more comfortable on the right wall myself because I’ve done so much spinning practice, and I often just roll into the ball, flipping as needed. Just remember, whichever style you use, it all comes down to practice!
You really need to be able to rotate in both directions at some point. There are times when you just don’t have time to adjust your preferred way. It’s great to practice your air roll left, but don’t shy away from the right side! Simple adjustments off the wall should be doable in either direction, and everyone has a weaker side; it’s important not to neglect it!
Exactly! I mostly use air roll left too, but I struggle more with distance aerials where I need to turn a lot. Just practice both sides and you’ll improve!
Yeah, I’m with you! Quick adjustments are really useful in certain situations. Just keep practicing and it’ll start to feel more natural.
