Has anyone figured out how to get Ubisoft games (like those on Uplay/Connect) to launch properly when using Game Mode on the Steam Deck? I feel like I’ve already installed Far Cry 5 twice, and I’m hoping to avoid unnecessary installs. I’ve seen some complaints about this, and it would be great if Ubisoft would let us test out our purchases to see if they work or not before buying.

I noticed that some Ubisoft games show up in my Steam library, but others don’t. For instance, I’ve got Far Cry 4 available, but Far Cry 5 didn’t show up even though I own it. It’s kind of frustrating trying to figure this all out.
It’s important to check where you’ve bought the game. If you purchased Far Cry 5 directly through Ubisoft Connect, you’ll need to install it via NonSteamLaunchers and maybe check out Decky for that. Keep in mind, Ubisoft games require an online connection to launch, so you can’t play offline at all. I ended up uninstalling it and just streaming from my PC since I needed Wi-Fi regardless.
Try using Dolphin in Desktop Mode and search for Lutris. I found a YouTube tutorial on it that helped me add Ubisoft games to my Game Mode library, even the ones I don’t own on Steam. This method also works for Epic, EA, GOG, and Ubisoft titles. Good luck!
Just a side note, if you can’t get it to work directly, consider using Remote Play. It’s super easy to set up and could save a lot of hassle if you’re tied to a strong internet connection anyway.
