Hey everyone! I’m not the best with tech stuff, so I hope this post stays up. I’ve got an old PC with an HDD, and a while back, I installed a new SSD, but I haven’t really used it as much as I thought I would. Now, I’m looking to boot my computer from the SSD, but I’m unsure if there’s an operating system installed on it. If not, can anyone guide me on how to set that up? Also, I’ve been using the SSD for storage and have a few games on it—do I need to erase everything before I can boot from it? Thanks a ton for any help!

Yeah, you should check the drive sizes, but if both drives are 1TB, you’ll have plenty of space. If you want to boot from the SSD, you might need to wipe it, especially if it’s not set up as your main drive. Make sure to back up anything important before wiping it!
Your new SSD probably doesn’t have an OS on it yet since it sounds like you’ve mainly used it for storage. To get an OS on there, you’ll need to install one. You can either clone your existing HDD to the SSD or do a fresh install of the OS directly on the SSD. Just make sure to back up any important files first!
