I recently built a new PC and added three NVMe drives. Out of these, two were used in my old setup, but only the new one appears in my drives list. When I checked disk management to initialize the drives, I only see options for Spanned, Striped, or Mirrored Volume, which I’m not familiar with. Can someone explain why I can’t find an ‘initialize disk’ option and what I should do with these drives?

Also, if you’re having a weird issue where your PC sees drive D as an external drive, it could be a mistake in the drive letter assignment or a glitch in the recognition. You might want to check the Disk Management again and see if you can reassign the drive letter to fix it. Let us know if that helps!
It sounds like your older drives might already be initialized from your previous setup. Typically, if a drive has data, it won’t show the ‘initialize’ option. You might want to clarify what you’re trying to do with them — if you plan to wipe them or keep the existing setup. Just don’t choose one of those volume options unless you know exactly what you want to do, as they can combine drives into new setups instead of treating them as separate drives.
