I’ve been trying to get Roblox customer support to change my username since it includes personal information, specifically my full first name and part of my last name. Roblox’s policy says they’ll only change it if it shows the entire first and last name, which I find risky since even part of a last name is personal. I’d be willing to pay the 1000 Robux fee to change it, but they won’t remove the old username from the username history, so the personal information would still be visible, defeating the purpose. Despite mentioning GDPR to them, their responses are only automated messages instructing me to pay for a name change. Has anyone successfully escalated such cases beyond standard customer support? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the suggestions. I might consider going down the social media route to see if that adds any leverage. Starting fresh isn’t my first choice due to everything I’ve done with my current account. Legal action seems too heavy unless it’s absolutely the last resort. But I’ll keep documenting all responses.
It’s frustrating, yeah, but Roblox has that username history feature for a reason. You could go the legal route if you’re serious about data privacy, but that can be costly and time-consuming. Maybe, continuously reaching out with better-documented concerns regarding privacy laws could help push them to act.
If you’re okay with starting anew, making a fresh account might be the simplest path. You’ll lose any progress you’ve made, but at least you’ll have control over what information is linked to your username. Personally, starting over seems like a hassle, though.
The frustrating part is definitely dealing with those copy-and-paste responses. Your best bet might be to try finding a direct email or a higher-up contact within Roblox support to escalate your issue. Sometimes reaching out on social media for more visibility can help too, but proceed wisely. Just keep prepared with any proof of your previous contacts and their replies if you decide to pursue further action.
