I’m using a Blackshark V2 headset with my PS5, but the microphone is way too sensitive—it picks up every little sound in the room, like a clock ticking, which barely even my ears can hear. I’ve already turned the mic sensitivity down to the lowest setting on the PS5, but it hasn’t helped. On PC, using the USB dongle that comes with the headset, it works fine, so maybe that’s causing the problem on PS5? I’m wondering if there’s a way to fix this issue or if I should just get a new headset with a mic that works better on PS5. What do you guys recommend?

Honestly, the best quick fix might be to physically muffle the microphone a bit. People have used wrapping a cloth or something similar around the mic to reduce its sensitivity to background noise on the PS5 since software options are pretty limited there. It’s not perfect, but it could help cut down on the super sensitive pickup.

Thanks for the tip! I was thinking about trying to wrap it with some napkins or something similar to dull the pickup. If I end up getting a new headset, any ideas for ones that don’t have crazy sensitive mics?
