Hey everyone! I’m having a bit of a rough time with the Minecraft Bedrock launcher on my Steam Deck. I was using the unofficial Nix launcher without issues until a recent update caused the app to loop back to the launch page in gaming mode. I can open it just fine in desktop mode, but trying to play it with deck controls isn’t working out. Has anyone encountered this problem? Any fixes or should I just wait for the devs? I did manage to troubleshoot it a bit, but I’d love to hear if anyone else has any tips or experiences to share!

Hey there, I noticed you might need a little more info. If you’re still stuck, try checking the Steam Deck community guides for troubleshooting or consider reposting your question with more details. It’s a great place to get solid help!
To get your Minecraft Bedrock working in gaming mode, check your controller settings in Steam. Right-click on the game, select properties, and set the controller override to ‘use default settings.’ It worked for me! Just a heads up, it’s feeling a bit sluggish lately; not sure what’s causing that.
I had the same issue! The only way I could play with my friends was by launching it through desktop mode and then opening Steam—that helped with the controller setup. It’s a pain, though. Hoping the next update will make things smoother!
I totally get that! It’s frustrating having to jump through hoops to play. I found a solid workaround too, which I’m gonna update my post with!
