Hey everyone, I’ve been having some issues with my Steam Deck’s internal storage. After I swapped my SD cards, I had to move my roms to the internal storage to get them to work. Originally, I had about 155GB of roms on my internal, plus I had a 200GB SD card. Now it seems like I’ve got about 311GB being used up on my internal drive, and I’m assuming it’s because the roms might have been duplicated somehow. I originally had around 70GB left on my internal before this mess started. Any tips on how I can reclaim that space? I have the 512GB OLED model, by the way.

You might want to check if your emulation setup is saving files in both your internal storage and SD card at once, leading to duplicates. Connecting to EmuDeck’s Discord could also provide some support and clearer guidance on how to fix this. They have a lot of resources on managing storage effectively!
Absolutely, their Discord community is super helpful, you’ll find answers fast!
It sounds like you might be dealing with duplicate entries for your roms. One way to tackle this is to check your storage and see if there are multiple copies of the same roms saved in different locations. You could use a file manager to navigate through your internal storage and tidy things up. Also, consider setting up EmuDeck with an ‘EmuVirtual’ symlink, which simplifies the process of using multiple storage devices. It could help prevent situations like this in the future!
Thanks for the tip! That EmuVirtual thing sounds like a lifesaver. Gonna look into it right away.
I had a similar issue and setting up that symlink really helped. Definitely worth it!
I’ll definitely hop into the Discord! I could use some extra guidance.
