Hey fellow gamers! I’ve recently purchased a Steam Deck to enjoy gaming on the go. I’m setting up EmuDeck and have already grabbed Oblivion. However, with so many upcoming game releases, I’m a bit confused about which games to buy for which console. I know that console games typically offer better performance, but I want to avoid buying the same game for both platforms. Any tips on how to prioritize my purchases between the PS5 and my Steam Deck? Thanks in advance!

Discounts on Steam are usually way better than on consoles. When you add games to your wishlist, you often find great deals on newer titles for under $5! So that definitely factors into my decision on where to buy.
Yeah, and I love physical copies, but Steam offers such a huge library at lower prices.
When deciding, I consider performance first. If it’s a demanding game, I’ll usually go with the PS5 for smoother gameplay. But if it’s something more casual or an indie title, I 100% buy it for my Deck.
Right? The Deck is great for quick sessions on the go.
Mmhmm! And it’s handy for games that are older or less intensive!
If you have both consoles, I’d suggest reserving graphically intensive games for the PS5. The Steam Deck handles indie games, indie titles, and emulation quite well. For example, I’ve been using my Deck as a machine for older back-catalogue titles, while I go for all the new releases on my PS5.
Totally agree! The Deck is a perfect fit for games that aren’t too demanding.
Yeah, I do the same! The PS5 just feels right for anything new with all the fancy graphics.
For me, it’s all about whether the game runs well on the Steam Deck. If it struggles, then it’s definitely a PS5 purchase. I had to go console for some titles. Plus, if you’re looking at multiplayer, the PS5 offers better options there.
Absolutely! Multiplayer games are usually smoother on the console.
I played Oblivion on my Deck and it actually performed okay, but some demanding titles are better saved for PS5.
I generally stick to AAA titles on the PS5 and the rest on the Steam Deck. The prices on Steam are typically way cheaper, especially during sales. Always worth checking which platform has the best deal!
Same! Sales on Steam can be incredible—such a money saver.
Exactly! Grab games at lower prices on Steam and save your bucks.
I know right? So many gems available for cheap! It’s unbeatable!
