I recently bought a PS5 DualSense controller to use with my computer, but I’m having trouble getting it to connect. I found some old discussions suggesting that blueZ might be causing issues, but that was a couple of years ago. Has anyone figured out how to properly connect this controller to Fedora 42?

I’ve been experiencing the same issue with my DualSense controller. It used to connect perfectly via Bluetooth, but something changed recently, and now it just won’t connect. Very frustrating!

This might not apply directly since I use a DualShock 4, but I found that pairing via the terminal using bluetoothctl works a lot better than using blueman. If you’re comfortable with the command line, give that a shot! I also switched to using a Gulikit dongle for better emulation, but that means manually pairing it again when you want to use it without emulation.
Have you tried connecting it via USB? That could be a good workaround until you figure out the Bluetooth issue. The touchpad on mine worked just fine when plugged in!
I’m not using Fedora, but I’m on Arch with the latest blueZ stack, and I’ve faced similar issues. The KDE Bluetooth wizard sometimes fails during the initial pairing, but the controller usually shows up in the pairing list. After that, if I press the PlayStation button again, it connects without fail. Just make sure to turn on the controller after the initial pairing; it might help!
Yeah, I noticed the touchpad worked over USB too, but I really wanted the wireless functionality!
