Hey folks, is there a way to use Virtual Desktop on the Meta Quest 3 with a cable connected to my ASUS TUF Gaming F15 laptop? I know my laptop doesn’t support power delivery through a USB-C cable. Is HDMI or another method an option? I want to use Virtual Desktop instead of a monitor, but using VR over Wi-Fi, even when plugged in, seems to drain the battery fast.

You could try checking out gnirehtet, which might help with tethering solutions. But I’m curious—why the need for Virtual Desktop with a cable? The Meta Link is officially the way to go for wired use, though some find it glitchy. Gnirehtet isn’t actively maintained, except for major fixes, so it might not be much of an upgrade—but it’s something to experiment with if you’re feeling adventurous.
Unfortunately, Virtual Desktop doesn’t support a direct cable connection. You can’t use HDMI or USB-C DP with the Quest 3 either. For a stable connection, your best bet is using the Meta Link app with a compatible USB-C cable. You might want to get a cable with a power injector if you’re not sure your laptop can power the Quest. This setup should help avoid battery drain issues.
