I’ve been diving into subclassing in the game but I’m starting to feel a bit frustrated. I picked all three skills from the DK tree first, but now I want to try out archery too. I’ve read that I can’t swap skills until I level one skill line to 50, is that true? If so, that seems really unreasonable! Can anyone clarify if I’m stuck with this situation or if there’s a workaround?

It’s a bit of a bummer that you have to hit 50 for a skill to switch it out. If you want to maximize your options, consider creating multiple characters so you can level different class lines and have more flexibility in subclasses.
Once you’ve subclassed a skill, you’re committed until it hits level 50. The quickest way to level is to team up and run through Blackrose Prison. Clear the first round, then let yourself get downed in the second round, only using your skills from that line while doing it. With some XP boosts, you can get to 50 pretty quickly! If you’re struggling solo, let me know and I can help you out.
If you’re lacking high-level characters, you must get that skill line to 50 to unlock it for subclassing. They made it clear when they introduced subclassing that this would be the case. If you’ve got friends, see if they can help run you through some areas to level up fast!
Yeah, unfortunately, you’ll need to level one of your subclass skill lines to 50 before you can swap anything out. It’s a pain, but it is how they’ve designed it. I recommend hitting up an XP farm for a few hours to get that grind done.
