I’ve played both Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild, and I’m curious about diving into Wind Waker next. Since those two games offer a lot of freedom, I’m wondering how different Wind Waker is and if I would still enjoy it. What do you think?

Wind Waker is quite different from BotW and TotK, so brace yourself! While it’s a fantastic game in its own right, it leans more toward linear gameplay and storytelling. If you love the open-world exploration from the newer games, you might find Wind Waker a bit constricting, though it does have some moments of exploration to enjoy.
Just a heads up: Wind Waker is one of the easier Zelda games out there, so the combat won’t challenge you like in BotW. However, if you liked the stealth areas in your previous games, you’ll find some fun stealth sections in Wind Waker too! If you’re craving more of an open-world experience, the originals like LoZ, Ocarina of Time, or A Link to the Past might be closer to what you’re after.
The best way to know is to give it a shot! Just remember, the boat can be a bit pesky when exploring at first, but it’s totally worth it once you get into the swing of things. If you do decide to play, let us know which version you pick!
