I’ve played a lot of hardcore simulation games like Project Zomboid and Snowrunner, but I’m kind of lost when it comes to The Sims. I’ve been micromanaging my Sim a lot — even deciding when he goes to the bathroom! Is this how you’re supposed to play, or should I just let things happen more naturally?

The Sims is more of a sandbox game compared to the hardcore sim games you’ve played. You definitely set your own goals, and you can also look up some fun challenges that other players have come up with. If you’re the micromanaging type, you can always turn off free will in the gameplay settings, or you can just relax and watch those virtual life ants run around! Who knows, maybe one will burn the house down! 😂
It really depends on how you want to play! I tend to micromanage a lot too, just to keep all my Sims happy and productive. But easing off the controls can add some excitement—TS4 has so many built-in ‘training wheels’ that it can get a bit dull if you handle everything perfectly. Letting your Sims cook without skills? What could possibly go wrong? ;P
Haha, right? Sometimes you gotta let them learn the hard way!
Welcome to the world of The Sims! There’s really no right or wrong way to enjoy the game; it all depends on what you find fun. You’ll notice that players have vastly different styles. Some go all out and let their Sims do whatever crazy stuff they want, while others prefer to control every little detail. There’s no shortage of wild stories from players if you look around! Happy simming! 😊
Right? Sometimes it’s interesting to see what chaos they get into when you let them act on their own!
