I’m new to using texture packs and shaders in Minecraft, and I’m trying to understand if switching from Stratum 512x to 1024x is worth it. I recently tried using 1024x, but it seemed to lag a lot, and I’m not sure if that was due to the resource pack or the shader I was using at the time, which was Continuum. I’ve also had some trouble with shaders; I bought a premium one but couldn’t get it to work due to needing Forge, so I downloaded a free shader instead, which might not have been compatible. Right now, I’m using the 512x pack with Astralex shaders, which seem to work fine. Should I consider upgrading to 1024x, and do you have any tips for optimizing Astralex shaders to reduce lag? Any advice would be appreciated!

When it comes to texture packs, higher resolutions like 1024x will generally offer more detail and sharper graphics, but they’ll also consume more memory. So, while the visuals will be improved, your game might lag if your system can’t handle it. I suggest sticking with the 512x for now since it’s running well with the Astralex shaders. If you do want to try 1024x, make sure you have a solid setup to manage the added load!
Yeah, definitely! It’s all about finding the right balance.
That makes sense! I guess I should also consider getting better shaders that are optimized for lower specs, right?
