I recently got a notification saying I’ve been promoted to group leader, and I’m curious about how this decision is made. Does anyone know what criteria are used to select a leader? Also, is it possible for leadership to change suddenly, or can I opt out of this role if I want?

The way my team operates, we have strict participation rules. Players need to engage in team events regularly, or they’ll be removed. It’s not all fun and games, but it helps keep the team active!
In my experience, if a leader is inactive for over 60 days, the game reassigns leadership to the next active player. If you want to give up your role, you may have to leave the group to let the next top contributor take over and then rejoin as a regular member later.
I became a leader unexpectedly, and I wasn’t the highest-ranked either—just the person with a profile pic! Sometimes it depends on who is active and contributing most to the team. Just a heads up, you might end up leading even if you don’t expect it!
Lol, I totally get that! I’ve been looking for a co-leader too, so if you ever want to switch roles, hit me up. Our team is super chill and we have fun! Just keep it encouraging.
To find out who your group leader is, just check the Team Info section. It shows the members and indicates the leader with a little crown emoji next to their name. Super easy!
I was also promoted when the previous leader went MIA. The rules definitely yield a new leader based on the highest level of activity among remaining members, usually if they’ve been inactive for a long time. And yes, you can leave, and the next person in line will get the leadership!
Typically, leaders are selected by the game’s system when the previous leader has been inactive for a certain period, like 28 days. If no one else in the team has taken on a co-leader role, the most active player steps up as the new leader. It’s pretty much automated based on activity levels!
If you want to step down or share the workload, you could ask your team if anyone wants to be a co-leader. This way, you still hold the title but let someone else handle the heavy lifting. That’s how my team approached it, and it worked out great!
I can’t believe you’re that strict! I’d never expect that in a game. Just keep it light, right? It’s all about having fun!
