I’m trying to figure out if subclassing allows you to use skill lines from any other class without restrictions, or if there are specific requirements, like needing a character at level 50 in that class before you can use those skills. For instance, can I use Warden skills on another class without having a level 50 Warden? I couldn’t find a clear answer, so hoping someone can clarify how this works.

To add a bit more, on each character you can only choose one skill line from any given other class to subclass in. So if you’re playing a Warden, you can’t pick two Nightblade skill lines as subclasses; you’d have to pick one Nightblade skill line and one from another class instead. This keeps builds more balanced and prevents stacking too many abilities from one class when subclassing.
From what I’ve seen on the test server, here’s how subclassing works with skill lines: Suppose you have three characters—a Nightblade, a Sorcerer, and an Arcanist—and each of them has their class skills leveled to 50. When you want to subclass on the Nightblade, you talk to the NPC and complete a small quest to unlock subclassing. Then you pick skill lines from other classes, like “Dark Magic” from Sorcerer or “Herald of the Tome” from Arcanist. Since these skill lines are already leveled to 50 on other characters, you get to use them immediately, but only at Level I. You’ll have to level up those skills again, and each level costs twice as many skill points as usual. Once you level those subclass skill lines, they’re leveled for any character on your account. So after doing this, if you then want to use “Dark Magic” on your Arcanist, it’ll already be maxed out and ready to go. Basically, you must level each skill line once for subclassing per account before you can freely use it.
Yeah, that matches what I experienced. Also, remember you can only pick one subclass skill line per different class, so no stacking multiple lines from the same class on one character.
