I have a GTX 10xx series GPU, and I heard that support for Pascal drivers is becoming more limited. I mostly play older games from around 2008 to 2015, so I’m curious if my Pascal GPU will still perform well on Linux, or if there are significant drawbacks I should watch for?

I’ve got a 1050 Ti and I play games that are 10-15 years old. Everything works perfectly fine on my end!
You shouldn’t run into any issues! One of the things I really appreciate about Linux is how well it supports legacy devices. If it’s working properly, it tends to keep working, unlike some other operating systems.
Great!! thanks
For the time period of games you’re looking at, you should be perfectly fine. Pascal GPUs might struggle a bit with demanding DirectX 12 titles, but if you stick with the official drivers, you’ll have a smooth experience. Plus, unlike Windows, support for older hardware on Linux continues even after direct vendor support ends. The new open source Nvidia drivers are also getting better really fast, so your GPU will likely get support for longer than you think. Check out some recent improvements if you’re interested!
Good to know, thanks!!
