The Wooden Emblem gets swapped with a Gold Emblem found above the dining room fireplace. Once you do that, take the Gold Emblem and place it in the clock area to solve the puzzle.
You need to use the wooden emblem when you find the gold one in the bar / piano room. Take the gold one and use the wooden one in its place to open the door back up. You can then return to the fireplace and put the gold emblem in the place where the wooden one used to be and it will unlock the clock puzzle in the dining room.
