Hey everyone! I’m curious about how you handle inventory weight when using both ballistic weapons and power armor. I know “batteries included” helps with weight for energy ammo and fusion cores, but it doesn’t apply to ballistic ammo, and the bandolier doesn’t help with fusion cores either. Do you typically use both perks or just one, and how do you manage your stock of ammo and cores? I’ve been primarily using energy weapons forever, especially since ‘batteries’ makes carrying them easier, but I’m now looking to try out some ballistic guns, particularly the .50 cal. Any advice on balancing this?

I actually don’t use either perk. I rely on ammo weight reduction for my power armor, especially since I like explosive launchers. It covers all the ammo types I use, though they messed up some features with legendary power armor changes a while back.
You definitely want to run both cards if you’re using a mix of ammo types. I’ve heard that next season, fusion cores can actually be stored in the ammo box, which will help a lot!
Ammo weight isn’t really an issue for me, to be honest. I typically keep around 1k rounds of .308, and after events, I just return to home base, unload junk, and stock up on more ammo if I need it. Plus, I’ve got other weapons like the Gat Plasma just in case!
Honestly, most ballistic ammo doesn’t weigh much at all. I can carry over 10k in 5mm or .50 cal without it being an issue, and I always use “batteries included” for my fusion and plasma cores.
I go for both cards too! It might reduce my DPS a bit since I can’t use Lock and Load, but the quality of life improvements are so worth it.
I run both perks, and honestly, it’s totally worth it. Ballistic weapons aren’t really that great for endgame, so I find they work better as more of a general-purpose option. My quad LMG setup really benefits from it!
I just stick to both cards! Makes managing weight a breeze.
Totally get what you mean! Even with the trade-off, I think managing inventory is way better.
