Looking at the items I can research, a lot of them are showing glass as a resource that I need to build them. How do you get glass in this game? What resources do you create it from and how?

Glass is made from smelting quartz. Bit of a weird way to go about it but this is how you do it. Quartz is normally found in caves underground. It is sort of a pinkish colour crystal that grows on the walls and roof of caves. It is fairly common. Once you have some clusters of it. Insert it into a smelting furnace and it will create glass for you.
