I’ve been playing GTA V and its online mode for about 55 hours, which is my most played game on Steam. However, I’ve noticed that some players have thousands of hours in various games, and despite playing for four years, I only have around 300 hours across all my games. My friends have even started teasing me about my lower playtime. How do these gamers manage to accumulate so many hours?

It all comes down to free time and play habits. Some people just have more hours to dedicate to gaming, while others might leave their games running even when they aren’t actively playing. MMORPGs are notorious for this! That’s the crazy world we live in. Also, don’t sweat it if your hours are lower, not everyone needs to spend all their time gaming!
For real, some of us have actual lives outside of gaming! Good to be balanced!
Some people have more obligations and less time for gaming. It varies a lot – between intense gaming sessions during weekends or leaving the game open for hours, it makes a difference. And remember, your gaming experience is yours! Your friends should be supportive, not bullies!
Right? Playing for enjoyment is what counts, not the numbers!
Exactly! Priorities change, and it’s about enjoying your time!
Many players just make gaming their main hobby. For example, I played War Thunder nearly every day for a couple of hours, and that adds up fast! Plus, leaving games open while you’re AFK can boost those hours too. It’s just about how dedicated you are to one game over time!
True! I often leave games running when I’m busy and those idle hours stack up.
Same here! Even if I’m not actively gaming, I let it run and surprise myself with how many hours I rack up.
A lot of people rack up hours by dedicating every free moment they have to gaming—especially during times like the COVID lockdown when many just had gaming as a break. For some, ‘one more game’ turns into hours of play! But hey, it’s totally fine to have a life beyond gaming too!
I totally relate! During lockdown, I was gaming all the time! But now, it’s about balance.
Same here! I had a huge boost in hours during that time. Good to diversify interests!
Yeah, my friends joke about my hours too, but I get it; balancing life and gaming is important!
