Hey everyone! I’m having some trouble getting my new Quest 3 to function smoothly and I think it might be related to my network. I’ve got a few questions:
1. Does download and upload speed matter when using Air Link? My speeds hover around 90 Mbps.
2. Any tips on how to optimize visuals and stability while playing?
3. Is hand tracking really worth it if I’m mostly using VR Chat? I just got a link cable, but hand tracking doesn’t work with it, and I’m wondering if it’s worth the hassle.
Thanks for any help and apologies if these questions sound a bit basic—I’m pretty new to VR!

Internet speed doesn’t really affect Air Link since the data stays on your home network. What’s crucial is having a WiFi 6 router that’s hardwired to your PC. Solid hardware is a bigger factor for smooth performance.
1. Speed isn’t relevant for Air Link. Just make sure your setup includes a hardwired WiFi 6 router to your PC.
2. When starting out, use lower graphics settings and gradually increase them to find a sweet spot for quality and stability.
3. Hand tracking is mainly useful for menu navigation, but it’s quite finicky and I wouldn’t stress over it.
Hey, network speeds won’t impact Air Link, but your PC setup will. Make sure you have a decent PC and a solid router, preferably WiFi 6 or 6E. Use ethernet to connect your PC to the router and keep the router close to where you play for the best performance. Try tweaking in-game settings and check your connection using platforms like Virtual Desktop or Air Link to see what’s affecting performance beyond network stuff.
