How do I start watching Pokémon from scratch?

I grew up catching glimpses of Pokémon on TV, but now I’m ready to dive deep into the franchise and experience the entire story. Can anyone guide me on where to start? Are there specific episodes, books, or movies I should check out before jumping into the series? I had a great time following recommendations when starting One Piece, and I hope to do the same here. Thanks in advance!

If you’re okay with long anime, just start from episode 1! The movies are generally not tied to the show directly, so you can skip them if you want. Just be aware that it’s tough to find all Pokémon episodes on one legit platform; you might have to hop around different streaming services or get creative. You can check out official guides online for watch orders if you decide to include movies!

Just a quick note: the first movie does get a little nod here and there in the show, but it’s not a big deal if you miss it.
