I’m having trouble reinstalling SteamOS on my Steam Deck after changing the SSD. I have a USB flash drive ready for the installation, but I keep getting errors and can’t reach the selection screen. I still have Windows 10 running perfectly on it, but I really need to get SteamOS back up and running. Any advice?

Hey! First off, don’t stress too much about the error. Make sure you’re using a reliable flash drive and check that you’ve created the install media correctly. For that, tools like Rufus or Balena Etcher are usually great choices. If you can, share screenshots of any error messages you’re seeing—that helps a lot for troubleshooting!
Just to clarify, are you completely okay with losing Windows 10 to install SteamOS? If that’s the case, then you’re good to go! Also, let us know what method you used to create the bootable USB. Ensuring it’s USB 3.0 can also help with speed and reliability during installation.
For this setup, using the official Steam recovery image is key, so make sure you’ve downloaded that!
Yes, I’m good with that! I just want to get SteamOS working.
